UNIVERSITY OF THE CREATIVE ARTS, SUMMER SCHOOL
In the summer of 2018, I attended a Fashion Business summer school at the University of the Creative Arts, on the Epsom, Surrey, campus. Learning about the trend-spotting and forecasting within the fashion industry, how the styles we see on the catwalk trickles down into the high-street stores. With guest speakers, team-building exercises, and researching into the London based fashion duo 'Frankiewicz Rozniata', of which formed a project where we spent time styling, shooting and editing images influenced by their work.
VISUAL MERCHANDISING @ OXFAM, SUDBURY
In June 2019, between working full-time as a supervisor, I volunteered at a local Oxfam charity shop as a visual merchandiser. Constructing window displays as well displays within the store, looking at stock rotation and sorting through clothes to put forward onto the floor.
A-LEVEL TEXTILES - FINAL YEAR
On completing my A levels at The Colchester Sixth Form College, throughout my last year of A-Level Textiles, I was successful in completing three full garments. These demonstrated a range of textiles techniques, from pleating, machine embroidery, screen printing, sublimation printing and hand painting directly onto fabrics. In addition to this, for my choice of fabric, the co-rd of a printed crop top and wide leg trousers, were up cycled from second hand pieces and patchwork together. The choice of print and imagery within the jacket, are all directly influenced by the London protests in regards to the UK's vote to leave the European Union, Brexit, and the opinions of the younger generations voices.
